OpenNumerology analyzes your profile from your date of birth and your full name, reducing this data to meaningful key numbers. Tarotoui offers eight distinct calculators covering the main aspects of the numerological profile: the destiny number, personality, motivations, karmic, shadow, predictive, compatibility between two people, and arithmomancy (the classical Pythagorean method). Each calculation is instant, and the interpretation is delivered by AI.
What is numerology?
Modern Western numerology derives from the work of Pythagoras in the 6th century BCE, who saw in numbers the structure of reality. The current system was codified in the early 20th century, notably by Mrs L. Dow Balliett and later Juno Jordan. It assigns a value from 1 to 9 to each letter of the alphabet, then reduces the total to a single digit (except for the master numbers 11, 22, 33). The date of birth, added and reduced, gives the destiny number. The full birth name yields other values: expression, personality, motivations. Arithmomancy is its original Greek variant.
How does a calculation unfold?
You enter your date of birth and, depending on the tool, your full name as it appears on your birth certificate. The calculator applies the rules of addition and reduction proper to each number type. Destiny adds day, month, and year. Personality counts only the consonants of the name, motivations only the vowels. The karmic identifies the missing digits in your name, a sign of lessons to learn. The shadow spots recurring numbers, indicators of repetitive patterns. Compatibility compares the destiny numbers of two people to assess resonances and frictions.
Interpreting your numbers well
No number is good or bad in itself: every digit has its strengths and frailties. Read your profile as a whole rather than stopping at one isolated number. Check your full birth name, first names included: a usage name or a married name will give a different profile. Periodically recompute the predictive number, which changes every year. Avoid taking your numbers for verdicts: they describe tendencies, not a sealed fate. Numerology is useful for knowing oneself better, not for locking yourself into a label.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between destiny and personality?
The destiny number, derived from your date of birth, describes the general trajectory of your life. The personality number, derived from the consonants of your name, describes the image you project outwardly. The first is unchangeable, the second can evolve if your name changes.
What are master numbers?
The numbers 11, 22, and 33 are not reduced to a single digit because they hold a particular vibration in the numerological tradition. 11 is tied to intuition, 22 to building, 33 to teaching. They often involve more demand and responsibility.
Does numerology have a scientific basis?
No, numerology is not validated by science. It is a symbolic grid that helps structure self-reflection. It can be useful as a tool of introspection but does not replace professional advice for important decisions (health, finance, orientation).
Which name to use for the calculation?
The full name on your birth certificate, with all your first names in order. This is the name used as a reference in the Pythagorean tradition. A married name or a pseudonym will give a different profile, sometimes useful to compare.
